Founder’s Picks For Fall 2014 (Men’s)

October 26 2014

Here are my top five favorite pieces for the gents this season. Truth be told I wish I could get my husband to wear one or all of these, but he is an over the top practical type who refuses to give up on his ten-year-old briefcase (heavy sigh).

Rolltote by J. Panther Luggage Co. - This style, from the small Brooklyn-based company, is new for fall. JPLC tests their products in the field for years before releasing them to the public, so you know they have to be good. This bag is indestructible and yet still looks great. Multiple carry options : backpack, hand-held or over the shoulder make it an ideal bag for the stylish and function driven man.

Business Bag by Bonastre – For the chic guy with a European flair, this business brief is oh-so gorgeous and modern. One of my favorite details is how the zipper completely splits the bag in half for full access.

Harvest Bag by Kika NY – A gorgeous artisanal bag designed for a more casual presentation but no less elegant.

Tokyo Pack by Lexdray – New to Roztayger, this is a great pared down backpack. Navy details and a camouflage lining are unexpected accents. Plus, this bag has all the pockets and compartments you could ever want.

Gibson Backpack by Atelier Marchal – A super tactile plush leather backpack for either gender – soft, elegant and not fussy in the least.

Happy Fall Shopping ! Hope you discover something that suits you.

Founder’s Picks For Fall 2014 (Women’s)

October 12 2014

Fall is my favorite time of year for dressing and accessorizing. My real passion for design is unleashed and I tend to be effusive to the extreme. (I will try to contain myself.) ...Without that passion though I would just be selling stuff, which truly is of no interest to me. What I love to do is share my discoveries in the world of smaller, high quality artisinal brands that don't mass produce or ride on their brand name recognition.

Some favorites for women this season include:

• The new Thela Bag in grape
This is such a rich color and really gives me that fall feeling of elegance and glamour. I am somehow always in search of lipstick in this color. And why not match your bag to your lips? I personally love the medium Thela, although I sell more large admittedly. The smaller size keeps me better organized, and since I am always in a rush and craving efficiency, this size jsut works best.

Grape Thela

• From Ally Capellino I am captivated by the Lillian Clutch.
Both the gray and black versions are super gorgeous and just a tad over the top in the size department, which makes them all the more cool and interesting. The green enamel clasp is an inspired touch.

• This season’s Bonastre pick is the Street Saco in gray and black.
I love the two-toned usage and the subtly slouched look of the structured shape.

• The Kika NY Harvest Backpack in leather is buttery soft and as elegant and low key as you can get with a backpack.
Great for men or women.

• I am partial to the Simple Tote in navy with black stripe from Clare Vivier.
I appreciate navy and black together and feel, as I get older, that it looks less harsh than the head to toe black I used to indulge in. The mix of matte black and shiny black on the textured suede is an intriguing combination.

• From Lost Property of London my pick is the Elwin Portfolio Bag.
Even if you are not an artist it gives you that artistic/creative vibe (which is always a good thing in my book).

• At PB0110 I have my eye on the AB14 Shoulder Bag.
Such a gorgeous, clean, striking shape. So lightweight and a great size if you want to pare down but still need to carry real stuff.

• From Tsatsas I love the Fluke in suede.
Blue, gray, or black? Hard to pick, but this is such an elegant bag in every color, shape and form. Talk about NOT reinventing the wheel.

Happy Fall Shopping - hope you are inspired !

So Long, Summer!

October 05 2014

Hello, Fashion Friends!

It's officially fall! I'm not quite sure where the summer went, but I'm relieved that the days of damp skin and flimsy fabrics are behind us. Yes, I'm an autumn snob. When it comes to quality clothing, rich textures and luxe accessories, summer is superficial at best. I look down my nose at her. So, sayonara summer! It's been an uninspiring ride.

With a warm September mercifully out of the way, I'm getting back to business with a new favorite bag for fall: The Beetle by Bonastre. Perfect for stuffing with agendas and Apple products, this Bonastre beauty is ideal for lugging my life back and forth from work. (Oh, and did I mention I'm obsessed with the two-tone?!) If you're looking for some architectural simplicity this autumn, The Beetle is what you waited all summer for.
