Zilla creator Sylvia Pichler was born and raised in Bolzano Italy to a family of architects and artists, Sylvia graduated in architecture but found her true calling in the fashion world. Intrigued by the transformation of unconventional materials into exciting formats on a smaller scale, she opted to use her skills together with her passion for handbags to create the brand in 2005.
The very same year she seized the opportunity to show her first collection at the Milano Fashion Week and evolved over the years to an established designer of unique and timeless bags – now distributed internationally through selected high-end stores. Her fascination of altering the original purpose of materials and combining them with minimalist shapes is still part of her creative process and a key to the brand’s success. In a small artisan laboratory close to Venice, reflective iridescent foils and aluminum as well as high quality leathers and canvas are then transformed into refreshing and clever shapes lined with metallic foils - moldable and foldable bags for everyday use or special occasions.
