Björk and Berries

Björk and Berries began in 2006 as a small project in northern Sweden, where wild leaves and berries were handpicked to make a first natural perfume. Björk is the Swedish word for birch, the tree that folk tradition holds to be life-giving, and it remains the signature material of the house. Isabelle Lewenhaupt leads the company today with her family.

Much of the thinking happens at Fäviken, the family farm in the north. A small mountain garden there grows herbs and plants used to test new scent ideas, and the long winters and short intense summers of the region set the terms for everything composed afterward. The fragrances take their subjects from the Swedish year and from Nordic myth, developed by the Stockholm creative team with master perfumers in France. Formulas are built on organic fermented alcohol, vegan throughout, and produced in Sweden and France.

Björk and Berries - Natural Swedish Perfume from the Northern Forests

Björk and Berries started in 2006 as a local project in the forests of northern Sweden, centered on the idea that the region's flora could be captured in perfume. Leaves and berries were gathered by hand for the first composition. Two decades on, the house is owned and led by Isabelle Lewenhaupt and her family, and birch still anchors the work.

Fäviken, the family farm in the north, remains the reference point. Surrounded by mountains, old forest, and Arctic light, it functions as both a growing site and a retreat, and its mountain garden supplies the raw material for new scent ideas. The eau de parfum collection follows two threads. Seasonal fragrances track the yearly shifts of the Swedish landscape. Mythical fragrances take their subjects from legends carried through Nordic storytelling.

The compositions come from the Stockholm creative team working alongside master perfumers in France, joining Swedish raw material to French perfumery technique. Each formula uses organic fermented alcohol as its base and balances natural extracts with safe synthetics. Everything is vegan and cruelty-free, produced in Sweden and France under ethical manufacturing standards, with packaging worked toward full recyclability.
